Mobile application

Can I only use the app on a smartphone? Do I need an internet connection?

To use Parkl, a stable internet connection and the installation of the app on your smartphone or tablet are required.

Can multiple people use one user account?

No, a person can only use one user account. However, you can add multiple vehicles to one account, making it easy to manage your different vehicles.

Where can I download the Parkl app, and which platforms does it support?

The Parkl app can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play. The app is available for both iOS and Android platforms.

Can I use the app with a different car than the one I registered?

The Parkl system identifies users based on their car license plates. The app can handle multiple license plates, but only one can be used at a time.

What is Parkl?

Parkl is an app for drivers that offers an easy solution for street and indoor parking, electric vehicle charging, and highway vignette management. The app helps you easily identify your current zone and can automatically renew ongoing on-street parking in public areas. It also provides access to off-street parking spaces, such as those in hotels, office buildings, and residential parking lots, as well as hundreds of public EV charging points within the Parkl charging infrastructure.

Registration

How can I connect to my company in the Parkl system?

On the Profile page, you can add your company profile under the Company Profile menu. To do this, you need to enter an eight-digit code, which you will receive by email. Once you enter the code, the company profile will also appear on the private dashboard.

I already have a Parkl registration, but my company is introducing Parkl. Do I need to create a new registration to use the company parking?

You do not need to create a new profile; simply accept the invitation from the company on the device where the Parkl app is downloaded and you are logged in. If necessary, we can change your email address to a company email, but in this case, all receipts, including ones coming from private use, will be sent to that email address.

Do I have to register with my corporate email address?

There is no such restriction from Parkl, but your employer may request it. If you registered with an incorrect email address, there is no need to delete your account. You can change the registered email address in the Profile section, under Personal Data. If you encounter any further issues with this, please contact our customer service at help@parkl.net, and we will assist you in changing the email address associated with your account.

How can I access my corporate profile after switching devices?

To access your profile, simply use the email address and password you previously provided to log in. If you registered using Facebook, Google, or Apple ID, you can also use these accounts to log in.

Do I need to register my bank card if I only use corporate parking?

No. However, if you register your bank card, you will be able to park in other Parkl parking locations as well. Instant parking also becomes available, which means that we will automatically open the barrier for you (e.g., in shopping malls). However, to use the private dashboard, you will also need to add a credit card to your profile.

Personal data

How can I delete my account?

You can delete your Parkl user account by navigating to the Handle Profile section at the bottom of the Profile page and selecting Delete Profile.

How can I update my personal details?

You can modify your details in the Profile menu, under Personal Details.

Vehicles

How can I set my favorite vehicle?

To set your default vehicle for parking and charging, go to the Profile page under the Vehicles menu. Select the desired vehicle, tap on the pencil icon to edit, enable the Favorite option, and save the changes. If you assign a nickname to your vehicle, this will appear in your transactions. You can update your favorite vehicle at any time, including when you start a new parking session, by pressing the small car icon on the map. The vehicle marked as your favorite will be the default choice in the app unless you manually select another vehicle.

How does the Instant Parking feature work?

You can activate the Instant Parking feature in the Profile page under the Vehicles menu. Choose the desired vehicle, press Edit, enable the Instant Parking option, and save your changes.

How can I indicate that I’m using an electric vehicle in the app?

If your vehicle is a chargeable electric or plug-in hybrid and you’d like to use our charging services, you can enable this feature under the Vehicles menu on the Profile page. Select the vehicle, enable the Chargeable option, and save the changes.

How can I specify my vehicle type in the app?

To specify your vehicle type, go to the Vehicles menu in the Profile page. Choose your vehicle, tap the pencil icon to edit, select the correct vehicle type, and save your changes. Choosing the correct category is crucial, as the selection of highway vignette types depends on vehicle categories. Hourly rates for street parking may also vary depending on the vehicle's type.

Can I use the app with a different car than the one that has an already registered license plate?

The Parkl system identifies users based on their vehicle license plates. The app can manage multiple license plates at once, but only one can be actively used for parking or charging at any given time.

Payment methods

How can I set my default card (favorite payment method)?

You can select your Favorite card for payments on the Profile page, under the Payment Methods section. Once you find the desired payment method, tap the pencil icon to edit, then set it as your Favorite and save the changes.


Important: The payment method and vehicle marked as favorites in the app will be used by default for every transaction, unless you manually select a different option.

How can I make a payment?

Payment is processed within the app through the OTP Simple system, and the bank details provided during registration are managed and stored by the Simple system. Thus, the payment is completely cashless and operates automatically.

How can I register my card in the app?

You can add and modify your card details on the Profile page, under the Payment Methods section. Here, you can set a nickname for your card to make it easier to identify during transactions.


Important: The payment method marked as your favorite will be the default one used in the app.

How is the payment method determined?

On the Profile page, under the Billing section, you can enter your billing address. The payment method will be determined from the Fleet or Private dashboard start.


Important: The Fleet payment option, available for instant parking, is also accessible on the Profile page under Billing. This feature becomes available once you have received the company invitation and are a member of the fleet.

Off-street parking

How can I purchase a parking pass in the app?

If you have a valid parking pass for a specific parking lot, pressing the Start button on the parking details page will automatically start parking with your pass.


Additionally, you can find your passes in the Transactions/Passes menu. You can also start pass-based parking from the pass details page.

What restrictions apply to parking passes?

Certain types of passes are only valid during specific time periods or exclusively on weekends. These details are always listed on the app's Pass purchase page, directly next to the pass type.


Periodic pass: Can only be used within a specific time frame (e.g., night pass: 6:00 PM - 8:00 AM).
Weekend pass: Valid as a daily pass only on weekends.


Check the details before purchasing to ensure the pass meets your needs!

What types of passes are available?

In Parkl partner parking lots, you can choose from several types of passes:

  • Daily pass: Valid for one specific day, from 00:00 to 23:59.
  • 24-hour pass: Usable for 24 hours from the moment of purchase.
  • 7-day pass: Valid from 00:00 on the selected start date for 7 days.
  • Weekly pass: Valid from 00:00 on the first day of the week until 23:59 on the last day of the week.
  • 30-day pass: Valid from 00:00 on the selected start date for 30 days.
  • Monthly pass: Valid from 00:00 on the first day of the month until 23:59 on the last day of the month.
  • 365-day pass: Valid for 365 days from 00:00 on the selected start date.

With the exception of the 24-hour and monthly passes, you can set the start date of validity for all other pass types by using the Modify option in the VALIDITY field.

Can I buy multiple passes at the same time?

Yes, however, you cannot use a pass at multiple locations. The purchased pass can only be used at the specific parking garage where it was purchased.

What is the minimum parking time?

There is no minimum parking time, but at most locations, if you park for less than 10 minutes, you will not be charged.

How will the parking space owner know I’m using their spot?

The owner of the parking space can see on the Parkl Admin platform who is parking in their space and the license plate of the car.

How can I open the gate or barrier for the parking space?

Parkl installs its own proprietary device in garages and parking lots, allowing users to open the gate with a single touch via their phone. In locations where the instant parking service is available, after setting it up in the app, the barrier will automatically open based on license plate recognition.

What should I do if I cannot open the gate?

If you are unable to open the gate or barrier, please check if you have an internet connection, whether you are at the correct gate, and if you have an active parking session at that location. If you still cannot open it after these checks, please contact the garage operator or reach out to our customer service via phone at +36 1 8 555 777.

What should I do if I can’t leave the parking lot on foot?

You can only use the app for pedestrian exit if there is no designated pedestrian exit in the parking lot, and you can only leave the building through the car entrance. In all other cases, please use the parking lot's designated pedestrian exit.

Can I freely come and go during my parking session?

Your car has to stay in the lot, but you can freely leave on foot in the meantime.

How do I know where I can park?

If you receive a specific number after the barrier opens, please find the corresponding parking spot. Otherwise, the app may display one of the following messages:

  • Please park in an available spot.
  • Please park in an available Parkl parking spot.
  • Please park in the P-001 spot.

What is instant parking, and how does it work?

The indication for instant parking at a specific location is currently not visible in the app, but we will integrate this feature soon.

How can I navigate from the parking lot to my chosen destination?

If you use the Search function, the results will be marked with a yellow pin on the map. If you tap on a parking lot close to your destination, the walking route between the parking lot and your destination will be displayed, along with an estimated walking time.

How does the search function work?

Push on the off-street parking search function in the Private Dashboard, then tap the search button on the pop-up tile and enter your destination.

What do the pins on the map indicate?

The pins displayed on the map indicate nearby off-street parking spaces and their hourly rates. By tapping on a pin, you can view the name of the parking lot and the hourly fee.


The pins may have different statuses:

  • Purple: Available parking space
  • Purple with lighter text: Full parking lot
  • Black: Selected parking lot
  • Gray: Temporarily closed parking lot

If a parking lot has a charging station, a lightning bolt symbol will appear next to the pin.

On-street parking

How does automatic renewal work for on-street parking?

This service is only available in Hungary.


Automatic renewal is now easier than ever. Simply select the correct zone, then scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up information window. There, you'll find the automatic renewal tile. Slide the button to the right to activate automatic renewal.

How does on-street parking work?

This service is only available in Hungary.


On the Private dashboard, tap the on-street parking tile, then select the suggested zone. If needed, you can change the zone manually by pressing the pencil icon or selecting a different zone on the map. Once you are in the correct zone, press Select, review the details in the pop-up window, and start parking by tapping Start.

How does the custom reminder feature for street parking work?

This service is only available in Hungary.


By tapping the custom notification tile, you can add 30, 60, or 90 minutes to the current parking period. After selecting the desired time, press Save to confirm.

How can I start parking?

This service is only available in Hungary.


Tap the on-street parking tile, select the zone, review the details, and start parking by pressing Start.

How can I stop parking?

This service is only available in Hungary.


You can view your active on-street parking session in the Active menu or within the on-street parking tile. In both locations, you can stop the parking session.

How are fees calculated for different vehicle types?

This service is only available in Hungary.


According to NMFR regulations, parking fees may vary by zone depending on the vehicle category. Certain categories, such as trucks, may have higher fees in specific zones (e.g., city center), while others, such as motorcycles, may park free in some zones. Current rules and fees are listed in the description of each parking zone.

How can I enter the zone code?

This service is only available in Hungary.


On the Private dashboard, select the on-street parking tile to view the map. To park in a different zone, press the Edit (pencil) icon and enter the zone code provided by the app.


After entering the code, press Select, then confirm again. The zone details will appear in the information window, where you can start parking by pressing Start.


Tip: If you zoom out on the map, a Zone Code button will appear to help with entering and selecting the zone.

How does the search function work?

This service is only available in Hungary.


Tap the on-street parking tile to view the map with your current location. To search for another area, press the Search (magnifying glass) icon and enter your destination.


The app will suggest the appropriate parking zone for the selected location. Press Select, then Start to begin parking.

EV Charging

How can I search for charging stations?

On the Private dashboard, tap the EV Charging tile. On the map, press the Search (magnifying glass) icon and enter your destination. Select the charging point that suits you, then press Select. After that, you can start charging at the chosen location.

How can I start EV charging?

On the Private dashboard, select the EV Charging tile. On the displayed map, press the Search icon and enter your destination. Choose the most suitable charging point from the results, then press Select. This will allow you to start charging at the selected location.

How can I stop electric vehicle charging?

Once charging has started, the session will appear on the Private dashboard. To stop charging, simply press the Stop Charging button.

What type of cable can I use to charge my car?

After selecting the charging point in the app, you can specify the connector type. The available options are: Chademo (DC), CCS (DC), or Type 2 (AC).

What do the different pins on the map indicate?

The map pins indicate the status and power level of charging points:

  • Purple: Charging point currently available.
  • Light purple: Available roaming partner charging point.
  • Black: Manually selected charging point.
  • Gray: Not operational at the moment.

Pins may display one, two, or three lightning bolts, representing the maximum available charging power at the location.

How can I filter results on the map?

During filtering, you can specify:

  • Parkl-operated chargers or chargers including roaming partners
  • Connector type
  • Minimum charging capacity
  • Availability of an on-site charging cable

You can also choose to display only operational chargers and those without access restrictions (publicly available chargers). Filter settings are saved and will remain active when reopening the app.

How can I find nearby charging stations at my current location?

In the bottom right corner of the map, press the list icon to view the nearest charging locations in a list format.

Is roaming available in the app?

Yes, charger roaming has been available to users since July 2025.

What is charger roaming?

With charger roaming, you can use not only Parkl-operated EV chargers but also access E.ON, IONITY, Lidl, Mobiliti, MOL, OMV, and Shell charging points through the Parkl app.

Why haven’t I received data about the end of my roaming charging session?

Some roaming partners do not send charging completion data immediately, which is required to initiate payment.


In such cases, the session will appear as "Not paid" under the History tab in the Transactions menu. Once completion is confirmed, the system will automatically start the payment process.

How can I specify the charging point when starting EV charging?

After tapping the EV Charging tile, select the desired charging location on the map. In the pop-up window, under the Chargers menu, choose the specific charging point.


During roaming, chargers are identified using their full ID format instead of Parkl’s four-digit IDs (e.g., HU*LDL*E0123456 or HU*MOL*E0123*1).

Highway vignette

Where can I find my existing highway vignettes?

Tap on the highway vignette tile, which will open the Transactions/Vignette page. Here you'll find your valid vignettes. Expired vignettes will be listed under the History section.

How can I purchase a highway vignette in the app?

To purchase a new vignette, press the New vignette button on the tile or in the transaction listing. In our system, highway vignettes can be purchased for motorcycles, passenger cars, passenger cars with trailers, motorhomes, light commercial vehicles, and trailers, as long as they weigh under 3.5 tons. For other vehicles, such as those weighing over 3.5 tons, the road toll must be paid through the HUGO system, which we do not manage.

What happens if the highway vignette purchase fails?

If your highway vignette purchase was unsuccessful and the error occurred in our system or on the NMFR site (rather than on your end, for example, due to insufficient funds), please contact our customer service. You can directly call us from the error message pop-up window for quick assistance.

How can I determine the category of my vehicle?

It is important to provide the correct vehicle category, as the type of highway vignette will be listed based on your vehicle when purchasing the vignette. If you are unsure about the vehicle category, the following image provides a simple summary of the types:

Parkl Fleet

Why can’t I access certain features?

On the Fleet homepage, individual services are active depending on the user’s permissions. If a service is active, its functionality is the same as on the personal dashboard, with the main difference being that the office dashboard is different. When the tiles are active, their functionality is similar to the Private dashboard; however, the payment method is always the corporate fleet, and your personal credit card cannot be selected.

Fleet dashboard quick starts

The Fleet quick-start feature works the same way at the app level as it does for personal use. Please refer to the relevant sections for Private features for detailed guidance.

How can I start roaming charging with a business profile?

Starting charger roaming with a business profile works the same way as with a private account. On the Fleet Home screen, tap “Start Charging,” select a location on the map, choose the vehicle and charger, then start the charging process.


To access charger roaming, your employer must enable the feature and assign you a Parkl Fleet user role.

What does business roaming charging mean?

With roaming charging, you can use not only Parkl-operated EV chargers but also access E.ON, IONITY, Lidl, Mobiliti, MOL, OMV, and Shell charging points via the Parkl app.


A subscription agreement is available for corporate partners. For more details, please contact your corporate administrator.

Parkl Office

Where can I see my active transactions?

Your active transactions can be viewed on the Home page under the service currently in use, as well as on the Transactions page.

How does booking work in the system?

To make a reservation, press the Parking Reservation button on the Home page, then select the location, arrival and departure times, and the vehicle you wish to use.


Reservations can be viewed on the Transactions/Reservations page or on the dashboard if there are no other active parking sessions. You can also create a reservation directly from the Transactions/Reservations page.

Where can I purchase Parkl Office passes?

Office passes are available on the Transactions page under the Passes tab. Parking can also be started directly from the subscription.


To do this, tap on the pass to view its details, where you will find the Start option.

How can I start parking?

To start office parking, press the Start Parking button on the homepage. This is only available if the company has open-ended spots. If only reserved spots are available, the button will not appear. In that case, parking can be started via the reservation details.

How can I start charging?

To start office charging, go to the homepage and select the Start Charging button. Choose the location, vehicle, and charger, then start the charging process.

Payment

How can I make a payment?

Payment is processed within the app through the OTP SimplePay system. The banking details provided during registration are managed and stored by the Simple system. Therefore, the payment is completely cashless and operates automatically.

What is the Convenience Fee?

The Convenience Fee is a form of compensation for using digital services, similar to fees applied in other online services such as purchasing tickets or ordering home delivery.


In the Parkl app, a Convenience Fee of 125 HUF is charged for every transaction related to off-street parking, parking pass purchases, and EV charging on Parkl-operated chargers. For roaming charging and highway vignette purchases, different Convenience Fees may apply depending on the specific service.


The receipt always shows the exact parking or charging fee separately from the Convenience Fee.

When will the money be deducted from my account?

Payment is processed immediately after the transaction is completed. There is no pre-authorized amount or balance that needs to be topped up.

What happens if there aren’t enough funds in my account?

You can exit the parking garage, but you cannot start a new parking session until the outstanding fee has been paid using the registered card or a new payment method has been added to your profile, from which the corresponding amount can be deducted.

Billing

When will I receive an invoice?

You will always receive an invoice via email. If you would like an invoice with VAT, you can request it on the Profile page under the Billing section.


On the first day of each month, a summary invoice will be sent covering parking, charging, and highway toll transactions from the previous month.

How is the billing determined?

Billing is determined as follows:

  • Off-street parking: In most cases, billed per minute from the start of parking until the barrier is lifted.
  • On-street parking: Billed per minute from the start to the end of the parking session.
  • Electric charging on a Parkl-operated charger: Billed based on consumption (typically per kWh), time-based, or according to the operator’s pricing settings.
  • Electric charging at a roaming partner: Billed based on consumption (typically per kWh), time-based, or as defined by the operator. A roaming convenience fee applies unless an active Roaming Subscription is in place.
  • Highway vignette purchase: Billed according to the selected vignette type and validity period at the time of purchase. The vignette is issued for the provided license plate and becomes valid immediately.

All transactions are transparent, and payment is processed automatically within the app.

What happens if there aren’t enough funds in my account?

You can exit the parking garage; however, you cannot start a new parking session until the outstanding fee has been settled using the registered card or a new payment method has been added to your profile.

Will I receive an invoice?

Yes, you will always receive an invoice via email. VAT invoices can be requested on the Profile page under the Billing section. Additionally, a monthly summary invoice covering parking, charging, and highway toll transactions from the previous month is issued on the first day of each month.

Coupons

What types of coupons are available in the Parkl app?

Referral Coupons:

You can find your unique promotional code under the Coupons section on the Profile page and share it with friends.


When a friend enters your code, they receive a 500 HUF coupon valid for 30 days for on-street parking, off-street parking, or EV charging. Once your friend uses the coupon, you also receive a 500 HUF coupon valid for 30 days. You receive a new coupon for each additional successful referral.


Promotional Coupons:

During Parkl campaigns, coupon codes may be available in announcements, press materials, social media posts, or newsletters. These coupons apply to specific services and within a defined validity period.


Always review the exact terms and expiration date in the promotion details.

Where can I find coupons?

Coupons can be managed on the Profile page under the Coupons section.


Add a New Coupon: Tap the New Coupon button, enter the code, and confirm by pressing Add.


View Active Coupons: In the Active Coupons section, you can see the validity period, value, and the services where the coupon can be used.


Always monitor the expiration date to ensure timely use.

Which locations offer permanent discounts?

At selected Parkl partner locations, users may be entitled to discounted or free parking when using specific services. To claim the discount, an active Parkl parking session must be shown on-site.


Locations:

  • Duna Plaza – Cinema City: 3 hours of free parking
  • KÖKI – Megafitness: 2 hours of free parking
  • KÖKI – OBI: 3 hours of free parking
  • KÖKI – Kackac Playground: 3 hours of free parking
  • Museum Underground Parking – Hungarian House of Music and Fine Arts Museum: 2 hours of free parking (for online tickets purchased at www.jegy.ligetbudapest.hu)

If you receive a coupon on-site, it must be registered in the Profile page under the Coupons section before exiting the parking area.

What should I know about coupons that can be used in the app?

Key rules:

  • Single use only: Each coupon can be used once.
  • Automatic activation: The coupon with the earliest expiry date is applied automatically after parking or charging starts. Its value is deducted after the session ends.
  • Non-transferable balance: If the transaction amount does not exceed the coupon value, the payable amount will be 0 HUF, but any remaining balance cannot be used for future transactions.
  • Not valid for pass purchases.
  • Not valid for roaming charging.
  • Not applicable to corporate billing.

Always check the expiration date to maximise the coupon’s value.

How can I set up notifications?

You can enable or disable push notifications in the Notifications section of the Settings page.

How can I manage my email subscriptions?

Email-related preferences can be managed in the Notifications section of the Settings page.

How can I rate the app?

You can rate the app in the Parkl section of the Settings menu. From there, you will be redirected to the Google Play Store or the App Store to submit your review.

App tutorial

Where can I find the app's onboarding tutorial?

The Parkl app's onboarding tutorial appears automatically after the first installation.


You can also access it later by tapping the "Main functions of the app" button under the Parkl section in the Settings page.

Private dashboard

How can I access different features within the app?

In the new app, a Private dashboard is available, where you can choose from four tiles: On-street Parking, Off-street Parking, EV Charging, and Highway Vignette. These tiles provide direct access to the respective features.

How does quick start work?

With the Quick Start feature, tapping a tile automatically displays the nearest EV charging station or parking location based on your current position. By selecting it, the location details page opens, allowing you to start parking or charging without using the map search.


If the nearest location does not appear, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • There are multiple parking lots or charging stations within the area.
  • There is no single parking spot or charging station within the specified area.
